Overloads and short circuits in one or more feeders are reliably detected. The electronics allow short-term current peaks, eg due to high inrush currents, and de-energize branches with longer overloads. This is ensured even on high-impedance lines and in the case of -creeping- short circuits. The intact feeders continue to be supplied with 24 V with absolutely no interruptions or reactions, thereby minimizing system downtimes. The faulty feeder is signaled via LEDs on the device and via a common signaling contact. The outputs meet the requirements of NEC Class 2.
