Lenco was founded in 1946 by Fritz and Marie Laeng. It emerged from the company's own electronics business, which was established in 1925. The location was in Burgdorf, Switzerland. High-quality turntables and the associated customer and repair service became the company's flagship. After the company went bankrupt in 1979, the brand continued to be used by different owners. Lenco has been part of the Dutch Commaxx International NV since the late 1990s and the company headquarters have been relocated to Nuth in the province of South Limburg. It is interesting that Lenco is still one of the leading manufacturers of high-quality record players, even though the era of large vinyl discs is long gone. However, many music enthusiasts and artists are rediscovering this type of sound carrier and the good old record is experiencing a small renaissance.
