What does complete meter cabinet mean?

What are meter connection columns?

You will also find ready-made meter connection columns in this catalogue. Such a system is also called an open-air column. This is a stationary control cabinet, usually anchored in the ground or on a foundation, with an integrated electricity meter. The meter connection pillar often serves as a transfer point between the distribution network operator (VNB) and the private energy distribution network.

On the one hand, we offer you basic models and, on the other hand, systems that have been set up according to the technical connection requirements of the distribution network operator. The details of the respective distribution network operator can be found in the product description. The basic models correspond to the current technical application rules VDE-AR-N 4101 and 4102. These can also be expanded to ready-to-connect meter connection columns from the relevant distribution network operator using additional components. Depending on the size of the system, a direct measurement or a 'semi-indirect' measurement as a transducer is possible.

In a nutshell

In contrast to direct measurement, currents and voltages in large systems cannot be recorded directly by the meter. Then a converter measurement is carried out. With the 'semi-indirect' measurement in the low-voltage range, a current transformer reduces the measured variable proportionally and makes it measurable for the meter again. In the case of medium voltage, an 'indirect' measurement is carried out by using an additional voltage transformer.
