Mounting rail
In the truest sense of the word, it plays a key role in the production of your electrical installation. We are talking about the top-hat rail, which is also called the mounting rail. It is typically made of metal and has the shape of a stylized top hat in cross section. Hence it got its name. The top-hat rail is usually mounted on the rear wall of a distribution box, a connection box or a control cabinet, where it serves as a universal carrier for fastening electrical equipment such as circuit breakers, relays, switches or terminals. Both the DIN rails and the fastening devices for the equipment are standardized and therefore always match. A mounting rail thus serves as a base for a particularly space-saving attachment and enables flexible positioning of any compatible device anywhere on the rail according to individual needs.
