D-type fuse base
Fuses are important to protect electrical systems from faults. Depending on the need and application, different security systems are available on the market and of course also here in the eibabo online shop. Screw fuse systems, for example, consist of several components, namely the fuse base, a fitted insert, the fusible link and a screw cap. The conductor coming from the mains and the outgoing conductor are connected to the fuse base. A fitting insert ensures that only the right fuse fits into the socket. The fusible unit itself is considered by most people to be the actual fuse and is effectively the replaceable breaking point of the circuit in question. During assembly, it is first inserted into the screw cap and screwed together with it into the fuse base. Please make sure that the current-carrying conductor is always connected to the foot contact of the fuse base. This means that accidental touching and the associated electric shocks when checking or changing the fuse link can be ruled out.
